Lickety Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Dry Split Green Peas
  • 1 Small Potato, diced
  • 8 Cups Water, boiling
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Medium Carrot, finely grated
  • 1 (3-inch square) Johnston’s Ham Bone
  • Johnston’s Cooked Ham, cubed
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Cooking Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in large casserole dish. Cover. Put in a slow cooker or microwave on medium high for 45-55 minutes or until peas are tender. Stir every 10 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
  2. Helpful Hint: freezes well
