Glazed Cottage Ham

  • 4-5 lbs Cottage Ham
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp dry mustard
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 1 tsp grated orange rind


  • Cover cottage ham in its poly film wrapper with water. Pick several times.
  • Simmer 1 ¼ hours. Remove wrapper.
  • Place cottage ham on rack in shallow pan; cover with glaze.
  • Bake at 325°F for 30 minutes, brushing occasionally with glaze.

    I made this last night for my family. It got rave reviews! I served it as part of a picnic-style cold supper of salads, fresh fruit, crudités, pastured chicken, and deviled eggs. It was a tangy, flavourful complement to the meal!

    Made this tonight – delicious! Although, I had already taken it out of the packaging, so I just went ahead simmering without the plastic. Tasted great with the glaze!
