Lickety Split Pea Soup

  • 2 cups dry split green peas
  • 1 small potato diced
  • 8 cups water boiling
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 medium carrot finely grated
  • 1 3" square Johnston’s Ham Bone
  • Johnston’s Cooked Ham cubed
  • salt & pepper to taste


  • Combine all ingredients in large casserole dish. Cover. Put in a slow cooker or microwave on medium high for 45-55 minutes or until peas are tender. Stir every 10 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
  • Helpful Hint: freezes well
