  • 1 lb Johnston’s Fresh Ground Pork
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • ½ small cooking onion diced
  • ½ small red bell pepper diced
  • 2 Tbsp Mexican chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp chipotle powder
  • 8 Johnston’s Bacon Weave Taco Shells

  • Brown the ground pork in a large skillet.
  • Add the full can of tomatoes with the juice, onion, and seasonings.
  • Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally, until most of the liquid is gone; approximately 10 minutes.
  • Spoon the mixture into the taco shells, top with grated cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes and fresh salsa.

Johnston’s Bacon Weave Taco Shells

  • You will need 4 strips of Johnston’s Bacon per taco shell.
  • Create an overlaping bacon fabric by weaving strips together. Drape the weaved strips over a taco shaped mold (such as an oven safe pastry blender) to form a signature taco shape.
  • Bake on a sheet pan in the oven at 400°F until brown and crispy. Once cooled fill with the above taco ingredients.
